"Knock, knock." A crisp knocking sound rang by my ear. I suddenly came back to my senses, hurriedly wiping my eyes as I looked towards the door.
It was Captain Joric Shaw. My heart leaped with desperate hope.
"Is there any news?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Meeting my hopeful gaze, Joric nodded, a look of relief washing over his weathered face. "Yes, I just received news. The Alpha King has been successfully rescued and is currently being sent to the embassy. He is expected to be back tomorrow."
"That's great..." I let out a heavy sigh of relief and immediately hugged Talia again, my eyes turning red once more. "Tali, your brother is fine..."
