CHAPTER 69: RAGING HUSBAND
David stood outside of Evangeline Medical Hospital.
It was raining, the clouds are gray and dark. It was pouring hard, he was soaked in the rain, but he doesn’t seems to care that much. His eyes remain cold, icy to the building as if it could destroy the bolting, crumbles beneath him as it fumbles.
His phone vibrated inside his pocket.
He knew who was calling.
“Did you find her?” Mrs. Smith was quick to ask, she was sipping a glass of wine. She noticed that David is not responding.
There’s only two possible reasons she could tell. One, he did not find her. Two, he was actually thinking how he could punished her. Oh, the thought made her chuckled.
Now, Raquel would really wished that she never left and elope with another man. Mrs. Smith knew her son. He may appeared an obedient boy, but his temper was terrible. He actually killed his own pet, because it bites him.
“I can tell what you were thinking, David.” Mrs. Smith voice out her thoughts. “But let me reassure you, don’t worry too much about how messy it could get, I’ll can your mea for you just like the old times, son.”
David knew he will. His mother wouldn’t want dirt and controversy smeared over her name. She likes pretending like they were the good guys, but they are not. His family was the worst. When he beats Raquel, his wife, his mother pushed him, telling him that he needed to disciplined Raquel before she rebels.
She was there, ordering David.
“I don’t need you to clean my mess.” Every words are firmly stated as his eyes darkened with anger.
He was fuming red, imagining what Raquel may have been doing inside this hospital, and that man she was with. What are they doing? Are they f*****g with each other? Those in mind fueled his fury.
David was beyond furious. It wasn’t as if he didn’t just cheated on her with her sister, Grace.
That’s all in the past. He told himself. He have already regretted it, but did he?
“Oh, c’mon, don’t be embarrass, David.” Mrs. Smith laughs smoothly as if surprised for what her son said. “You needed me, you just can’t accept that fact now, but you will.”
He will realizes it sooner or later.
“Now, my boy—discipline that b***h and show her how good wives should act, David.” She sneered.
David hangs the phone.
He was clutching it tightly.
Show her how good wives should act…?
He is not going to show Raquel, but what he is going to do was kill the bastard in front of her to teach her a lesson that she’ll remember.
“Just watch me, Raq...”
David walked towards the reception, his clothes are damp, his pants is soaked. All eyes stared at him oddly.
Mary looked up from her desk.
She felt weirded seeing the man. It was if he doesn’t mean any good news at all.
“May I help you, Sir?” She still asks politely.
“I am looking for somebody.” David’s voice was dark.
“Who maybe it is?” Mary continued.
“I’m look for Raquel Smith.” He uttered the name with so much hate he embodies.
He was looking for Raquel? Mary frowns. She knew her, Raquel was Eliot’s lover just like what she told him. But she is the jealous type. Mary could see than during on their first meeting.
“Let me take a look, Sir.” Mary pretended as if she was looking on the logbooks, but she could feel that David was watching her every move.
Later on, she lifted her head and shook, “She’s not on our list, do you really think that she’s here, Sir?” She lied smoothly through her teeth.
“You really think so?” But David have his doubts. “if Raquel Smith did not exist, what about Raquel Roswell, that might rings a bell for all of you—” He glanced over her nametag. “—Mary, I believed.”
“As I told you, she’s not here—”
“Hey, let me check on my list.” Roman, one of the nurses on the station butt in, when he felt the tension between the pair.
Mary looked at him. She wanted to tell him not to, and let David get away, but she couldn’t. She already tried to help, whatever Raquel and Eliot had placed themselves into, she didn’t want to take any part of it.
“Bingo, she’s on my list.” Roman chuckled.
“That’s good then.”
Mary have a really bad feeling about it.
“She’s on room 204, it’s on the 4th floor.” Roman continued.
“Thank you, you have become so much help to me unlike your friend here.” He was referring to Mary.
When he turned his back to leave, Mary noticed that he pulled something…and she isn’t the only one who saw it. Everyone does. Roman and Mary looked at each other.
“He has a gun.”
“He never mentioned anything that he was leaving.” Raquel was hurt.
She was on Jerome’s office, talking, when he asked her for a coffee. The strong scent and taste filed her nostrils. But maybe, this I what she needed. After everything she have gone through, although she have not shared it all to Jerome.
“But you did not also tell him where you are going, when you disappeared.” Jerome frowns.
“Good point.” But how can she? She was take against her will, and it was just a relief that she escape. Unknown to Raquel that she’ll like being in Jasper’s little room than be seen here and taken by her raging husband on the loose.
The telephone inside Jerome’s office rang loudly.
They both looked at each.
“You wouldn’t mind, if I?” Jerome asked.
“Go on, I don’t mind all.” She reassured him.
Jerome picked up the phone, “Hello—”
“You needed to get out there and f*****g take Raquel with you. NOW!” It was Agnes, and the way she sounded—it was like she was worried, afraid and in a rush.
When Jerome heard it, he was confused, “What do you mean—?”
“David Smith is inside and he was holding a g*n!”
True to her words, they heard a pod bang being released on the air.
“Shit.”
