I knew something was seriously wrong the second I felt Zoey’s emotions start going haywire. Xavier must have felt it too, because he suddenly jumped to his feet and headed straight for the door. He was reaching for the doorknob when the door was suddenly thrown open and in came Zoey, looking like she had just seen a ghost.
“What’s wrong?” Xavier and I asked in unison.
“Come with me,” she insisted, as she took Xeraphina from Xavier.
In silence, I followed Zoey to my bedroom, and what came next was most unexpected.
