Bullies, Young and Old

But Katherine was sitting back on another stump with no intention of wanting to go back. Something he noticed and immediately worried about as he walked to sit beside her, “You don’t want to be here. What’s wrong?” Katherine knew it wasn’t funny, but she giggled anyway as she whispered, “As silly as it sounds, I want to build a castle with a mote and have an armored guard waiting. Keep everyone but you out so they can’t hurt us.” A vision she could clearly see in her head as she thought of the brigade ready to ruin any semblance of happiness she had. Ready to build it for her if it would give her peace of mind, Henry felt a power rush through him suddenly. Gasping when she saw his eyes glowing, they both looked to see the Goddess of Wolves in the sky. Eyes widening, Katherine whispered as she looked at him after she’d gone again, “What the hell?” Shaking his head amazed, Henry admitted, “I had never heard of her blessing someone like this before. It’s a miracle. Their son must really be something special.” Nodding in agreement, Katherine looked deflated as cheers of pride erupted and sparks that could only be from her parents lit up the sky. It was seeing them she tried not to be jealous of their apparent happiness. She should be the bigger person and be happy her parents were happy. Only she wasn’t. “Your parents are the Tomsens?” Nodding at the question, Katherine quipped, “Hence the same last name.” Chuckling not even fazed by her slightly bitchy tone, Henry’s deep chuckle made her shiver a little. As he teased, “Well I didn’t see you earlier when they were introduced to me.” Because they hadn’t been introduced by her… “Lucky too.” Katherine looked at him confused as she reached in her bag for her other joint, “Why lucky?” Henry’s smile was dangerous, “Well I’d hate to make such a sour first impression on my future in laws darling. I’d hate for the first time a man met me and I’m growling at his daughter.” Blushing as his deep rumble came closer to her, Katherine’s face turned pink as he teased, “Though I suppose it’s more acceptable than what I was thinking when I first saw you.” Feeling her entire face turn even redder, Henry chuckled shaking his head, “So cute.” He teased making her blow smoke at him, “I’m not four! Don’t call me cute.” He took her joint as he tried not to lose his tongue and behavior. Because her pout was exactly that though. Only it also had an element of sexy that knocked any “kiddie” thoughts from the grown shifter’s brain. Instead, he was left to salivate at the grown woman she was. Red lips like raspberries, plump like cherries, and probably even sweeter than both, Henry wanted a sample. To decide. And as he tried to think of a suave way to ask, his beautiful mate suddenly teased him leaning close, “Are you trying to think of a pick-up line so you can kiss me?” Henry chuckled as he admitted, “Maybe.” She gave him a smug grin, “Okay I’m waiting. Hit me with the charm then handsome.” Henry wasn’t sure he had a drop of it. Game having not been needed when in Alaska, the dumb wolf didn’t know how to approach his own mate in witty, banty, flirting ways. Instead, all he had was honesty, and his honesty was more of a statement than a flirty pick-up line. “I want to kiss you. I want to kiss you so I can know what forever tastes like.” Lips parting with surprise at her mate’s words, Katherine was more than okay with him leaning in. Wanting his kiss and anticipation making her breathless with desire, Henry took it all in when he kissed her. Leaving nothing but herself and what her body naturally craved, his warm kiss was like dope. And she wanted more and more as the addiction happened immediately and mercilessly. Henry would have been more than glad to show her more too, give her whatever she wanted, and be satisfied in pleasing her. Only they had to be interrupted. “Well look at little Ms. Katie-hoe-bell.” Pulling away, Katherine’s mind was foggy from her mate, but as she met the mocking eyes of Bernadette and Samuel Tindell, she was confused. “Can I help the two of you?” Moving from being close to her mate, Katherine watched the brunette scoff as she haughtily looked at her brother, “Can she help us? Like we want a turn?” Her twin not laughing as he looked uncomfortable at the huge man scowling at them. “Sis-.” Not paying attention to her brother trying to warn her, the pink lip gloss covered lips were flapping away as she unknowingly hit too many buttons. “You know Josie was right about you.” She shook her head like a disappointed teacher, “You’re nothing but a common hussy putting your mouth on everyone else’s man. How shameful.” Looking over her shoulder, Bernadette giggled, “No wonder your parents did the daughter upgrade. They can’t stand having you for a daughter.” Eyes misting over, Bernadette didn’t stop when she saw Katherine close to tears. Instead, she turned to the confused wolf and sneered, “You might want to get two condoms for this one honey. She’s been with all the guys in this village and now the human cities too. Who knows what the f**k she’s done-.” Samuel having had enough seeing Katherine’s hurt expression suddenly barked, “Sister!” making Bernadette wince as his sharp feelings hit her through their bond. Only able to send her brother a look to calm him as she thought this was nothing but fun, her “fun” had knowingly sent Katherine into a tailspin. A large fallen tree branch suddenly airborne, came crashing into the tree opposite of the twins, almost hitting them both. Pixies like her, neither had saw the power coming but had ducked on instinct as nature was a part of them too. And as their matching bronze eyes met Katherine’s bright pale aqua, that went from teary to livid. “Considering you were sucking off both Jamie Cole and Hale Mandel in the same day? Maybe you should be worrying about your business rather than being all in mine.” Silenced as the truth made Bernadette look down embarrassed Samuel looked at her shocked as their kin gave her a nasty look, “Right, so maybe before you talk s**t, remember your not so innocent either. You, or that b***h you and everyone else wants to shame me on behalf of. Everything you all say is nothing but a mirror to how you feel about yourselves. And it’s pathetic. All od you are.” When she turned and saw Henry’s face, and felt shame at how he saw her, Katherine felt tears begin to fall. “Mate-?” She was suddenly shimmering glittery blue pixie dust and as she turned around Henry winced as she seemed to almost explode in the bright light of blue. Flying in the air like a shooting star, Henry wanted to stop her but didn’t know what reaching out would do. So Henry let her go… For now.
