Alexis lazily stirred. Her body ached, but it felt good. It was the same lethargy of an intense workout and it felt divine. She looked at Caden’s smooth face, unperturbed in sleep.
It was one of many things she envied about him. No matter what happened during the day, Caden could fall asleep and stay asleep without any difficulty. He lived his life without a care in the world.
Alexis wished she could do that too. Reaching up she twisted her fingers in the ringlets of his hair. She loved that he let his hair grow out. In addition to giving her something to play with, it softened his otherwise stern expression.
