AXEL A WEEK AND A HALF LATER I stare at the pile of papers on the desk and sigh. Over the last week and a half has been nonstop; between my alpha duties and dealing with the deaths, it all has been challenging. My father’s funeral was yesterday. It was hard, even more so on my mother. When the guards placed my father in their room after the attack, my mother never left his side. I found her laying next to his body, holding his hand. It was heartbreaking and hard to watch. I didn’t know what to do. Yesterday, all alphas around that knew my father came to his funeral. Many alphas had stories to tell about him, which was nice to hear. He had a good send-off. My mother left the funeral when he was put into the ground and locked herself in their room.
