Chapter 6

“Oh my gosh… you’re the ruthless alpha!” I looked at him in horror. Quickly, I got my arms off his grip. He was appalled and eventually looked at it in shock. I bit my lip as I felt my lips quivering. I began to sense my surroundings. I felt a lump in my throat. Fear succumbed to my body. Damn it. I’m in Shadowstone, the ruling and domineering pack of the realm and what’s worse is that the man whom I thought my savior was the same man who has executed a lot of werewolves in the realm! Damn it! I looked at Farkas in horror and by the way of his facial expression, I was sure as hell that he sensed my fear. He didn’t say a word. He was just looking at me, too. I could feel that he wanted to say something, but he just couldn’t “Alpha!” My body turned cold when I heard that. Slowly, I turned around only to see a group of werewolves standing in front of the arc. They were looking at me intensely as if I was some poison that they were not letting into their pack. I swallowed hard again. Damn it. I didn’t know what to feel and how to react! I mean, of all the people here in the realm, I’d really bump into the most dangerous and ruthless alpha and pack?! Oh Moon Goddess! What is happening?! What will I do now?! I swear I felt my muscles shaking as I did not know what to do there. I was just standing while hesitantly looking at Farkas. I’d probably looked so scared right now, but hell, what could I do?! No matter how hard I try to stay calm and all, I couldn’t. Damn it. “Misha, Varka,” I heard Farkas calling those who were approaching us. I also heard their footsteps becoming nearer. My heart was beating rapidly like it wanted to go out of my chest already. I took a deep breath before finally garnering the courage to look at the newcomers in their eyes. There, I saw two women. Then there were five other men behind them who were looking at me like they were going to eat me alive. Damn it, damn it! “Who is she, alpha?” I heard the woman with straight and black hair ask. She stared at me from head to toe as if she was studying me. I gulped hard. “Varka,” Farkas said, almost warning the woman already. I could feel the curiosity and the intensity of the way that they were staring at me. I stepped back and that must have gained attention from Farkas because he immediately turned to me. I looked at him in disbelief as I slowly shook my head. “You…”I couldn’t even continue what I wanted to say. s**t! He gave out a deep sigh. “Louve…hey.” He tried to go near me, but then I kept on stepping back. “You’re the ruthless alpha…” I said, my head was still in confusion and I felt like I was floating on cloud nine. There was something in his stares that was melting me in the insides. I gulped hard. He stopped a few meters away from me and looked me in the eyes. His eyes were like talking to me… it was gentle, not like the others’ intense and sharp looks. It was very light and it felt like he was not judging me at all. ‘What the hell is wrong with you?! He’s dangerous! Run!’ I snapped back into reality upon the outburst of my wolf. She’s right! Definitely right! I should go and run now! But hell, I couldn’t! My mind tells me to freaking run, but my body just won’t cooperate! What the hell?! “Louve—” I flinched, which made him stop from advancing near me. He tried to reach for my arm, but I didn’t let him. I saw how his face went sour. I looked away. I was even more conflicted! I felt like I was a jerk for being this mean to him when he saved me earlier, and now… he was not anything bad to me like the way that he was described by the other werewolves… but then… ‘He is still the injustice and dangerous alpha of Shadowstone! Wake up!’ Damn it! I took a deep breath and heaved a loud sigh. Why didn’t I recognize his name anyway?! Sure, I haven’t really seen him, but his name was all over the realm! He was in every werewolf’s mouth! They were spitting horrible and mean things about him…but now… I closed my eyes tightly. “I-I need to go…I’m sorry!” I bit my lip and was about to run away from him when he called. “Wait, wait! Please, wait!” I could hear the anxiousness and the gentleness of his voice, which made me have second thoughts “W-what?” I was able to ask, which made my wolf growl and huff in irritation. Farkas let out a sigh and slowly went near me. I gulped hard again. “What's wrong? Are you scared of me?” He mentioned the last question in a hoarse voice. This time, his moves were calculated as if he was testing my reaction or something. I could still feel the sharp stares from his pack members. It was so awkward! Damn. Why am I in this mess?! OMG. “Let's talk, I won’t hurt you…” Farkas spoke again. This time, I wasn’t able to shrug him off. Then I felt these sudden weird feelings in my heart. When we looked at each other’s eyes, I suddenly felt like my soul just flew out of my body. My wolf was lashing at me already, but then her words were like thin air that just passed through my ears. I felt the bolts of electricity going through my body when his hands touched both my arms. He then made me look at him seriously. “O-okay…what do you want?” I asked, my lips were quivering already. He let out a sigh before giving me a tight smile. “I’m willing to adopt you in my pack,” he said, which made me stunned for a bit. “W-what?” “I’m adopting you in my pack, Louve. I want you to be a member of Shadowstone.” My mouth gaped as I gasped hard. “But why?” My voice was still trembling. “Just because.” “What?” He smirked. Now my heart felt like it was jumping out of my chest. I couldn’t even hear my own breathing already! “I don’t know. I just think you need help. I want to help.” He shrugged. My mouth parted even more. I can’t believe he was saying that! “Are you really the alpha of Shadowstone? Are you for real?” He chuckled. “We’ll try me, I guess?”
