“Mommy, when will Daddy visit?” Shawn asked while we were eating dinner.
I looked at him and smiled. “I don’t know, Shawn. Maybe when he’s not busy anymore.” I had to always think of a safe answer. If I don’t tell him that his father is busy with work that’s why he couldn’t come to visit, he would ask even more questions. Quinn’s work is definitely the magic word for Shawn to stop asking.
“Will he come on my birthday?” he asked.
I almost choked on the food I was eating when I heard his question. I didn’t think of that. And yes, Shawn’s birthday is coming up. The last time we talked about it, he said he wants it to be in a resort. That was when he hasn’t known his father yet. I wonder if that changed now.
“I think he will. He would not want to miss your birthday, right?” I smil
