I could still see Hope moving at a distance, but I felt something going on around me. I wasn't sure what it was, but my instincts told me to be careful.
I moved carefully and noticed someone was hiding to my right. I was sure he wasn't the only one. I tried to pretend I hadn't noticed I was being followed. Part of me worried about Hope, but I knew that I had to deal with the people following me before I could think of helping Hope.
I jumped on a tree, and from above, I tried to find the position of whoever was following me. I saw a shadow moving between the trees, and then a bullet hit the bark of the tree next to me. The problem was, the shot was from the opposite direction of the shadow moving between trees. So at least two people, but I had a feeling there would be more.
