9. In the feeding room

1182 Words
Aurora's Pov He looked utterly startled after I asked him this straightforward question. I needed to talk to him, so I decided to take him to a more private setting. There should be feeding rooms for this type of party. I grabbed him by the hand, and he followed me to the closest door. We walked into the room full of couches. They were made out of red leather, which was very fitting for their purpose. Silvia had always been great at designing and setting up her places for events. However, the room was too big, and it was not completely private as two couples were already feeding not too far from each other but on separate sofas. I was unsure if it was to optimize the space or have a shared experience that few vampires and humans craved. "Swap?" I heard one of the voices. Well, that was not who I wanted to see or hear. It was Elon. Why on earth, of all the vampires, did it have to be him? His girlfriend was licking her lips and then his. I wanted to puke just seeing them together. She quickly flickered to another couch and placed her fangs on the dude sitting there. I heard a human moan while Elon followed her. At the same time, the other vampire couple moved onto the couch with the human girl. I was leaving. I had already stayed too long to see this. I finally knew I had enough of Elon and didn't want anything to do with him, certainly was not going to watch him enjoy himself with his pair. I turned around, hoping to find a smaller private room, but my human started running away from me towards the couches. I could have easily stopped him, but I was curious, kind of wondering what this was all about. I was still wondering how he even found me. He grabbed Elon's girlfriend, Mira, trying to pull her off the couch. She barely moved but stopped her feeding in surprise. As much as I enjoyed seeing this scene unravel, I knew it would not end well for the human, and I rushed to stop him, but it was too late. Elon had already seized him by the throat and pushed him to the nearest wall. They were both about the same size, but Elon was the thousand-year-old vampire that could end any human in a second. He was only saving him because Silvia protected the patrons. This is what she was known for, and very very strict rules. The human feet were dangling, and he was choking for air. "Let him go," I ran to them and almost growled in Elon’s ear. "You should have made your pet behave," Elon barked back. "Of course, you would bring someone like this. It could only be you." His words hurt me. It reminded me of all the other things he would tell me during our time together. Somehow, I was always at fault, the guilty one, the weird one, the sad one, the weak one. Maybe I was worthless. I didn't know anymore. However, I was pissed that he would bring that up in front of the other vampire couple or maybe the human. Actually, somehow the fact that my human might have heard this through his pain was frustrating even more than the vampires. Something had changed in me, and I was not even thinking while my body started to act on its own accord. I felt my leg connect with Elon's groin. Then he screamed, she shrieked, and he squealed. I truly relished that moment. That's right, vampires do still have sensitive testis. He dropped the human, who was on his fours, on the floor, trying to catch his breath. Elon recovered quickly, staring at me yet not saying anything anymore. However, at this point, a few club bouncers were already surrounding us. "Aurora, what did you do this time," Silvia was also here, and she was furious. "Everyone heard screams." "Well, I was not making any noise," I tried to defend myself. "They attacked us," I heard Mira speak up. "Really, Aurora?" Silvia looked at me, frustrated. "I think it's time for you to apologize. I don't do well with our kind offending each other at my events." "Seize the human," she commanded to the bouncers. They grabbed him roughly but were not moving yet. "What are you going to do to him?" I was worried, it was my fault he got in trouble. I should have stopped him. "Is he actually your pet? I have seen you with him before. Haven't I?" "No, but..." I looked at my human. He was not looking at me but rather staring at the couch where Mira was sitting with another human. "It was not human's fault," I continued. "Please pay attention, Aurora. It doesn't matter if he is your pet or whose fault it is. We are done with this. George," she turned to the bouncers again, "All humans in this room are permanently blocked from entering my events forever. This, hopefully, will be the lesson for them. Keep their memory intact so that it will get known to the patrons yet again that no disturbance is allowed. They can crave our parties, but they can never be permitted to enter. Aurora, you will be coming to my office with me." Silvia was tough. I have known it and even seen it, but I was never at the epicenter of her wrath. She was somewhat of a mother figure to many vampires, including myself. Many of us found her more controlling than anything else, but I could not tell for sure. The guards grabbed all three humans, including that human woman, from the other couple's meal, and carried them out of the club. I was going to follow them, but Silvia grabbed me by the arm. "You are coming with me, dear. I have to talk to you." I felt his eyes on me for a second while he was pulled away by the vampires, and I wanted to leave too. So, I tried to get to him, to my human. My human? What was I thinking? I was not sure what I was going to say, but I didn't want to leave him like that. Silvia was still holding onto my arm. I was considering shaking her off and still going after them, but I knew if I left, I could lose the support and be isolated even more. Did I need the vampire circle? I didn't. I think I didn't. I was torn between her and the human. I wanted to make sure he was okay, but he was breathing when I last saw him, and the guards would know better than to damage him any further. I gave Silvia an angry stare. I was going to tell her to leave me alone, that I am leaving now, she can shove her rules up... However, I knew deep down I had screwed up this time. So, I followed Silvia into her office.
