Chapter 5

*Few Hours later*                                                           

The old lady, Ornella Davis, has almost been in the hospital for the whole night. She had been in the hospital for more than four hours. And after staying for few more hours, she left the hospital and planned to go to her house, to her little granddaughter.

Throughout the ride from the hospital to her house, she was only thinking about one thing.

Why would they try to kill her family in such a horrible way?

Yes, kill.

Officer Decker confirmed that the car had not met in an accident, but it was a intentional plan of murder. The old lady did not doubt the words of officer Decker. She knew that there was huge possibility where someone would have tried to kill her family.

Even though she was very heartbroken because of the accident, she thanked god for saving her grandchild. She thanked god that her little grand child had not gone with her son and daughter in law. If her little granddaughter had also gone with them in the car, the Old lady would lose her last family and she knew she would not be able to take the thought of being left alone in this cruel would without any of her beloved people. She had lost many of her beloved, but she was determined to protect the only living person that she cared for, even more than her own life. Her little granddaughter. She will protect her at any cost.

She knew that whoever had planned the murder had a clear intention to kill the whole family including the little girl. But the person did not know that the little girl was never in the car. Her guarding angle was protecting her and will always protect her.

The old lady thanked god again for saving her little grandchild. But she still did not know how she will be explaining her little granddaughter about what happened to her parents.

She was just twelve, too young to go through this kind off hardship!

She feared about her granddaughter’s reaction hearing the news. She loved her parents a lot.

The old lady sighs and looks outside the moving car window. The sky was clear and still beautiful. The moon was half tonight, yet beautiful, the stars shined like diamonds in the sky Looking at the sky, no one would say that a horrible incident had happened. The old lady let out silent tears remembering the things that officer Decker had said in the hospital.

*Flashback to the conversation between the old lady and officer Decker*

The old lady was sitting on the chair at the entrance of the hospital. She looked too depressed. Officer Decker was looking at her in pity for a distance. He had just collected the reports of the site of accident and as he suspected it was indeed an planned murder. The report cleared all the doubts about it.

He was also quick to understand the reason behind this planned murder.

The murder was planned to get the Davis Company Limited from the hands of Ornella Davis.

Of course, officer Decker knew who Ornella Davis was. Whole of Europe knew her. She was one of the top businesswomen with the most powerful company in the whole of The United Kingdom and the whole of the Europe. Officer Decker also knew that the Davis’ had many enemies. They are after all the most powerful and the leading company in Europe and the United Kingdom.

But he did not know that their enemies would go to the extent of killing the whole next generation of the Davis Family!! When he learnt from Ornella Davis that her granddaughter was not in the car and that the little girl was safe in the house, he thanked god and sighed in relief. He was glad that the little girl was not in danger. But he knew that it was not over yet. The threat was not over yet.

Whoever had planned the murder will not stop until the little girl is also dead!!

Officer Decker had a sudden urge to protect the girl at any cost.

He knew that she was not safe here. She was not strong enough to protect herself. He needs to protect her!!

He had a plan to protect her, at least till she is old enough to protect herself. But he was not sure that the old lady will be ready to accept his proposal of protecting her granddaughter.

But he had to try.

Thinking like that he went towards where Ornella Davis was sitting. He sat on the seat beside her.

“Madam Davis, the reports from the accident site has come,” He says, bringing Ornella Davis out of her thoughts. She lifted her head and looked at officer Decker’s face and signed him to continue saying what he had to say. Officer Decker sighs before answering.

“As I suspected earlier, it was indeed a planned murder,” Officer Decker say carefully looking at Ornella Davis. Hearing officer Decker’s words, Ornella Davis shut her eyes tightly, trying to control her tears, but failed. She was indeed heartbroken, but she was not shocked. Officer Decker noticed her reaction.

“You do not seem surprised by the news Madam Davis,” He states. Ornella just chuckles sadly.

“Officer Decker, I have made many enemies because of my company. Many have tried to take it away from my family. Many times, the company had become a curse for my family. But it is our family legacy. We have to fight all the hardship that we face to keep our company and our legacy with us. That is what my husband was thought, that is what I have been thought, that is what I thought my son. And we vowed to protect our company and legacy at any cost. We have promised to fight all the enemies who will try to steal that Legacy from us. But I never thought that someone would stoop so low and plan to kill my family just to get it. If only we had known the intention of our enemies, we would not have been in this position. My son and daughter in law would have been at their house and Carina would have be talking to them right now,” Ornella says to Officer Decker. Officer Decker slowly nods his head in acknowledgement.

“Madam Davis, there is something else that I want to talk about, it is about your granddaughter,” Officer Decker starts saying. That caught Ornella Davis’s attention.

“What about my granddaughter!?” she asks worrying for her Little child. Officer Decker sighs before answering.

“I think the person who planned the murder, had wanted to kill your granddaughter along with her mother and father as well. He just did not know that she was not in the car.” Officer Decker say. Hearing his words, scared Ornella Davis more. Officer Decker saw the fear in Ornella’s Davis’s Face, and he knew that it was really hard for her to process all these things in one single day.

“Madam Davis, I also think that your granddaughter is not safe anywhere near here. We need to protect her, at least till she is capable to protect herself,” Officer Davis continues saying. Ornella Davis looks at him in desperation.

“Officer Decker, what can I do to keep my granddaughter safe!!? She is the only person that keeps me alive!! I will do anything to protect her!! just tell me!!” Ornella Davis asks in desperation. Officer Decker nods before answering.

“I suggest you to send her far away from here” he says in a soft voice.
